Have a look at some of the garden inspired finds we are bringing along:

A great collection of vintage wicker wrapped bottles.

Vintage china place setting cigarette holders repurposed as mini planters.

Georgia's Is On The Road Again!

Hi Friends:

Summer is coming to a close and Georgia's has been busy hitting every market in search of great vintage finds that are utilitarian and will mix in with any decor. We are heading to New York this week and then on to the Brimfield Antique Show in Brimfield, Massachusetts. Before we go, we wanted to share a few of our favorite finds from two barn sales that we attended last weekend.
I can't tell you how much I love this late 1800's two-board mahogany table!
We are getting lucky with benches. The original green paint is so cheery and we love the mortise and tenon construction.
This mid 1800's poplar 6-board (each side is one solid board) blanket chest hails from New York and also has original paint. While it looks teal in the picture, it is actually a beautiful sea green.
We couldn't pass up this vintage robin's egg blue wall cabinet. Great color, moulding and hardware!

Are you looking for something in particular, let us know. You can also find our products listed on One Kings Lane. If you're not a member, sign up, it's free! We currently have two farm tables for sale and a vintage green swing scheduled for sale on August 29th.

While we're away we'll stay in touch by posting inspirational finds and moments on Facebook. Visit us or follow us @ GeorgiasHI on Instagram. We'll be back in two weeks!

Pewter Door Decor!

Hi Friends:

A couple of months ago, while traveling through Ohio, I saw an inspired front door. It was decorated with pewter pitchers of varying shapes and sizes tied together. I got out of the car and snapped a picture with the hope that I could recreate it as it embodied everything I love: repurposing, charm, and  vintage one-of-a-kind items. Take a look! Inviting don't you think?
I've always loved pewter; for one thing, it doesn't scream, "polish me!" A metal consisting mostly of tin, it has a long utilitarian history. I think the dark, silver-gray tones work well with all color palettes and pewter pieces can be both functional and decorative. I have a mid-century pewter tea set with rattan handles that I love for it's understated appeal.
So, with the plan to make a similar door decor, I kept my eyes peeled at flea markets and antique malls for old pewter pieces that I could use for this project. It didn't matter if they were really time worn, as that would only add to the overall charm and character. Here's what I came up with!
There are, of course, many ways to celebrate the beauty of old pewter/metal pieces. How nice would a grouping look on a sideboard or mantel or a great pitcher used as a vase? Share your thoughts and ideas with us in the comment section; we would love to hear from you!

Georgia's in Georgia!

Georgia's traveled to Stone Mountain Park in Atlanta, Georgia to attend the Country Living Fair sponsored by Country Living Magazine and what an event it was!
This charming natural park combined with a wonderful blend of antique dealers, crafters and artisans made for a great weekend of shopping. I was equally excited about what others were hauling away as I was about the goodies I found for Georgia's! We will be launching with our winter/holiday collection on Etsy very soon; in the meantime, take a peek at some of the sights and finds that inspired us!
We loved these turn of the century andirons-oh, the patina!
Hard-to-find antique cast iron ham boiler repurposed to hold fireplace logs!
Vintage hand brooms; why not hang one by the fireplace. We love the turkey wing broom!
Beautiful mid-century art deco decanters!
Vintage bread baskets - so nice for serving dinner rolls!

Antique goat cart - perfect for holiday decorating!

We can't wait for store launch; watch for the big announcement!

Stirrup Some Style!

Hi Friends:

Back in the frontier days, cowboys used to roam the dusty, tumbleweed-swept range with beautiful leather saddles and classic wooden stirrups. After years of aiding their riders as they galloped across fields, along creeks and over streams, these simply-crafted stirrups developed warm patinas and time-worn charm.  While wood is no longer the material of choice for stirrups today, these beauties have found new life and purpose as decorative accessories in the home.

Here are my three favorite ways to use a vintage wooden stirrup:

1. Place one on your kitchen or dinner table and fill it with beautiful vintage cloth napkins.

2. Hang or set out on the counter in the bathroom and add a guest towel.

3. Use in the kitchen with a dishtowel.

Georgia's is stocking up on stirrups; we'll have one-of-a-kind relics from the past available soon!

Happy trails!

Brimfield Antique Show

Georgia's had a blast! Brimfield was brimming with antiques, collectibles, primitives and all things time-worn! This show truly lived up to its reputation as the largest and best-known outdoor antiques show in the country. There were literally thousands of dealers selling everything imaginable. I knew immediately that this was going to be a shopping experience like no other. Although I had help, I had to call for more reinforcements - Georgia's tech guy drove up from New York to help scout and ferry purchases to the car. Oh, and did I mention that it rained cats and dogs! We weren't deterred; no, we donned ponchos, over-looked our soaked shoes and reveled in the hunt for treasures. Georgia's was inspired at every turn; my best memories, though, the helpful, friendly people that we met, both dealers and fellow shoppers, and the fried dough. More about that later.  Have a look at some of our fab finds and candid moments! These items and so much more will be available for purchase soon!
